Chavez Reconstruction - Madison Metro School District
The Madison Metropolitan School District completed construction of the Cesar Chavez Elementary School in the fall of 2001. Shortly after its opening, the district closed the school due to air quality problems. At this time, an extensive remediation effort was undertaken to remove mold from building components.
Huffman Keel Partners was retained to monitor, for the district, the reconstruction of this school. This project commenced only after all remediation was complete in May 2002 and was finished in August 2002. The cost of the reconstruction was
$600,000.
