Verona High School

Front entrance of Verona High School in Verona, Wisconsin

Huffman Keel Partners was hired to serve as Owner’s Representative for creation of the new Verona Area High School. Along with building a new high school, the project scope included remodeling of the existing high school for conversion to an upper middle school, renovating the existing middle school for conversion into an elementary facility, and modifications to existing elementary facilities. The new high school comprises 610,000 square feet of building space on a 150-acre site and includes a 3-story academic section, a field house, a 1,000-seat performing arts center, athletic fields, a competition swimming pool and a separate, public access pool. The building utilizes geothermal heating and cooling systems for energy efficiency. Conversion of existing buildings to new uses required unique phasing to minimize disruption of school functions while work was conducted. These changes were made over three summers.
